HydroOne

Penny Favel’s role at HydroOne is integral to the execution of all aspects of their corporate strategy and in particular to becoming a Trusted Partner. 

Under Penny’s leadership, HydroOne developed its strategic approach to Indigenous Relations, based on vision, principles, excelling at engagement, and acting to address meaningful Reconciliation. She collaborated with Supply Chain, Projects and Operations to set public procurement targets for Indigenous businesses. Penny also led the development of the company’s strategic direction on offering Indigenous Equity Partnership for new major Transmission Projects. 

Prior to joining HydroOne, Penny was the Vice-President of Environment, Land and Indigenous Relations (Canada and US) for TC Energy. Penny was raised in Saskatchewan and attended the University of Saskatchewan for both her undergraduate and law degrees. She has enjoyed a 20-year career in law primarily serving as a commercial construction lawyer before moving into Stakeholder and Indigenous Relations.
