CEBC Membership Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions are based on the bylaws of the Clean Energy Association of British Columbia (CEBC).  In case of any contradiction between the Terms and Conditions as displayed on this webpage and the bylaws, the bylaws will prevail.

A. Eligibility

  • Membership is open to all persons and organizations.

B. Start and Duration of Membership

  • Membership starts on the day payment of the membership has been received in the account of the CEBC.
  • Membership will last for the period as indicated in the subscription by the member. 
  • In case payment for renewal of the membership has not been received, member’s access to the website will end one month after the due payment date.
  • Membership can be ended prior to the end date in cases mentioned under {E}.

C. Membership Fees

  • Membership fees will be paid by credit card.  Bank transfers will be considered by special request.  
  • Membership fees shall be set by the CEBC Board of Directors. 

D. Rights

  • All members shall have the right to participate in programs and activities of CEBC, subject to the rules established and listed in the bylaws. In addition, voting members shall have the right to:
    • hold office in the Association;
    • vote for elected officers;
    • vote on matters referred by the Board of Directors;
    • vote on changes, additions, and deletions to the bylaws;
    • seek to petition the Council.

E. End of Membership

  • The membership ends if the paid membership period has ended and the member has not renewed membership.
  • In case membership fees due are not paid, CEBC has the right to terminate the membership of the member involved.
  • In case a member engages in activities that the CEBC deems may harm the interests of the CEBC, or in case a member acts in a way that is in contradiction with CEBC’s aims and nature, the CEBC withholds the right to end the membership of the member involved.
  • Any member has the right to terminate his or her membership before the end of the paid membership period. Termination must be sent in writing to the Member Services Coordinator at [email protected] and does not constitute any right of reimbursement of membership fees.
  • End of membership, either at the end of the membership period or by intermediate termination does not constitute any right of reimbursement of membership fees.

CEBC Membership Refund/Cancellation Policy

Membership Cancellation by CEBC

  • The Clean Energy Association of BC (CEBC) reserves the right to refuse/cancel a membership in accordance with its bylaws and policies.    
  • If CEBC refuses a renewing membership, registrants will be offered a refund.

Membership Cancellation by Participant

  • Each payment for membership contains a non-refundable $25 administration fee.
  • New Membership cancellations (Initial memberships) received within 30 days of registration are eligible to receive a full refund less the $25 administration fee.
  • Membership renewals do not qualify for refund.
  • Cancellations received after the stated deadline will not be eligible for a refund.
  • Cancellations will be accepted via email at [email protected]
  • All benefits and incentives received by participant must be cancelled/returned to CEBC.
  • All refund requests must be made by the membership holder.
  • Refunds will be credited back to the original credit card used for payment.

CEBC Event Refund/Cancellation Policy

Event Cancellation by Sponsor

  • The Clean Energy Association of British Columbia (CEBC) reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable.
  • If CEBC cancels or postpones an event, registrants will be offered credit for the full amount, to be applied to a future CEBC event of the registrant’s choosing.  

Registration Cancellation by Participant

  • Participants that cancel event registrations will be issued a credit to be applied to future CEBC events.  The credit is subject to a $25 cancellation fee.
  • No refunds for participant cancellations are provided by CEBC.

These above policies apply to all CEBC events unless otherwise noted in the corresponding event materials. Please read all individual event information thoroughly.
