FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Vancouver, BC – May 22, 2024

Dear Colleagues,

It is with our sincere thoughts and prayers that we inform you of an unforeseen change to one of our panels at this year’s upcoming GENERATE 2024 conference. Unfortunately, Chief Sharleen Gale, Chair of the Board of the First Nations Major Project Coalition and Leader and member of the Fort Nelson First Nation, will not be able to join us for the Clean Electricity Fireside Chat with Minister Josie Osborne. Chief Gale is currently dealing with wildfires affecting her community of Fort Nelson, including various evacuation notices impacting residents and members of the Fort Nelson First Nation. Our thoughts and prayers are with Chief Gale and her community during this challenging time.

In her absence, we are honoured to welcome Dr. Suzanne von der Porten, Vice President of Clean Energy Strategy with the First Nations Major Projects Coalition, to participate in the panel. The session will proceed as scheduled with the following esteemed participants:

  • Minister Josie Osborne, Minister of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation
  • Kwatuuma Cole Sayers, Executive Director of Clean Energy BC
  • Dillon Johnson, Executive Council, Tla’amin Nation Government
  • Moderated by Jean Paul (JP) Gladu, Principal + Founder, Mokwateh

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to a meaningful and engaging discussion.

Thank you,

Kwatuuma Cole Sayers
