Vancouver, BC – September 27, 2024 – Clean Energy Association of British Columbia (CEBC) commends John Rustad and the Conservative Party of British Columbia for focusing on British Columbia’s energy needs, given the surging demand in community, industry, and transportation electrification. We see many opportunities to collaborate, especially on policy initiatives that prioritize local clean energy solutions, innovation, and ensuring access to affordable, sustainable energy for families and businesses in British Columbia’s Northwest. CEBC is committed to working with all parties to advance energy solutions that support the needs of communities across the province.

As an industry association that promotes the growth of BC’s clean energy sector, our members are deeply committed to providing affordable, sustainable, and resilient energy solutions. We believe that local power generation is a crucial step toward energy security and economic prosperity. We recognize the value of leveraging local resources and encourage continuing to position BC as a low-carbon leader. Reducing dependency on diesel and other carbon-intensive sources is particularly important for rural communities, with Northern BC being a prime example. Continued investment in energy generation and transmission is needed to meet accelerating demands across our province and ensure electricity is reliably delivered to all British Columbians. Clean electricity is BC’s competitive advantage in the global economy and will provide sustainable jobs now and into the future.

We look forward to working with policymakers, communities, industry, and First Nations across the province on innovative, forward-looking solutions that help lower energy costs and ensure sustainable development. We are committed to collaborating on energy projects that benefit all communities across the province for generations to come.
