2025 First Nations Energy Summit

December 8, 2025 @ 8:00 am - December 9, 2025 @ 5:00 pm

The Clean Energy Association of British Columbia is happy to share that registration is now open for the 2025 First Nations Energy Summit, taking place December 8–9 at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver on the traditional, unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Peoples.

FNES is the only event in British Columbia dedicated exclusively to advancing First Nations leadership in the clean energy and electricity sectors — and this year will be the biggest yet! Centered on the theme “Transforming Communities: Empowering Indigenous Leadership for a Sustainable Energy Future,” the annual gathering features inspiring panels, high-impact plenary sessions, and a bustling exhibit trade show. FNES offers a unique opportunity to build relationships, showcase services, and engage directly with leaders from more than 80 First Nations, along with industry, government, and academic partners.

Why 2025 Matters

The 2024 Call for Power made history by requiring a minimum of 25 percent First Nations equity in awarded projects. Nations went far beyond this threshold, with almost every project majority-owned by Indigenous Nations. With BC Hydro’s 2025 Call for Power now underway and introducing new incentives for deeper partnerships, momentum is accelerating! FNES will be the central forum where this future takes shape.

Return of our Indigenous Youth Emerging Leaders Program

The Indigenous Youth Emerging Leaders Program supports First Nations youth (ages 18–35) to attend FNES 2025. Selected participants will receive complimentary registration and travel support, including accommodations, travel costs, and meals.

Eligibility: Member of a BC First Nation; 18–35 years of age as of December 1, 2025; demonstrated interest in clean energy and related careers.
Deadlines: Nominations close November 7, 2025. Selected youth notified November 12, 2025. Self-nominations are welcome.

Indigenous Travel & Conference Support

We are pleased to offer support to First Nations in British Columbia to help reduce barriers to participation in the clean energy and electricity sectors. Sponsored funds are available to help cover transportation and accommodation for up to two designated individuals per Nation, with priority for remote communities. Complimentary full-access conference passes are included for supported attendees.

Eligibility: Support is available for designated individuals attending on behalf of a BC First Nation community, with priority for remote communities.

How to apply: Email admin@cleanenergybc.org by January 9, 2026. Support will be processed in February 2026.

This program reflects CEBC’s ongoing commitment to supporting Indigenous leadership and participation in the clean energy sector.
