The Clean Energy Association of British Columbia (CEBC) extends its sincere gratitude to Chris O’Riley for his 35 years of dedicated service to BC Hydro and the people of British Columbia. Chris has played a pivotal role in steering B.C.’s energy transition while ensuring the continued delivery of clean, affordable, and reliable power to communities across the province.

“CEBC deeply values the strong relationship we have built with Chris over the years. His bold leadership and commitment to advancing clean energy solutions have been key in advancing the province’s energy transition,” said Executive Director Kwatuuma Cole Sayers. “Together, we made history with the 2024 Call for Power, which will see First Nations, on average, hold 50% equity in selected projects. This landmark achievement in reconciliation and clean energy development will bring benefits to First Nations and all British Columbians for generations to come. It has been my honour to work with Chris. Personally, and on behalf of CEBC’s 200 members, I extend a heartfelt thank you and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Chris O’Riley will officially retire on August 1, 2025. CEBC will support BC Hydro’s Board of Directors during the executive transition period.
