VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, May 13, 2026 – The Clean Energy Association of British Columbia (CEBC) joined First Nations, the Province, industry, and BC Hydro today to announce and celebrate BC Hydro’s 2025 Call for Power Awards, which will advance four new world-class wind energy projects through historic First Nations and industry partnerships across the clean energy sector.
Located in northern British Columbia and the Southern Interior, the projects will deliver approximately 3,500 gigawatt hours (GWh) of clean electricity annually, enough to power 350,000 new homes. All four projects include 51% First Nations equity ownership and are expected to generate approximately $4.3 billion in private investment, more than $2 billion in First Nations ownership, and 1,500 jobs across the province.
Combined with BC Hydro’s 2024 Call for Power, the projects represent 8,500 GWh of new affordable and reliable renewable electricity expected to come online by 2033, ensuring B.C. can unlock critical long-term economic growth, and a more sustainable, sovereign, and prosperous clean energy future for the province and Canada more broadly.
“The 2025 Call demonstrates what is possible when First Nations and industry collaborate to advance world-class projects with local ownership and community benefits at their core. These historic investments will deliver the enabling infrastructure needed to advance Nation-building projects, energy sovereignty, and economic growth across B.C. CEBC is proud to represent all Call for Power proponents and looks forward to collaborating with the Province to advance these priority projects under the Look West Strategy.”

The 2025 Call for Power Awards build on the historic First Nations equity ownership framework introduced through BC Hydro’s 2024 Call for Power and guided by ongoing collaboration between First Nations, industry, BC Hydro, CEBC, and the Province. The 2025 results demonstrate the continued success of that model, with all successful projects reaching 51% First Nations ownership.
