The Clean Energy Association of British Columbia (CEBC) welcomes yesterday’s announcement confirming a strong response to BC Hydro’s 2025 Call for Power, reinforcing the capacity of B.C.’s clean electricity sector to meet growing demand and support long-term economic growth.
“This response reflects the depth, maturity, and readiness of British Columbia’s clean electricity sector,” said Kwatuuma Cole Sayers, Executive Director of CEBC. “Developers and First Nations partners have spent years preparing projects, building partnerships, and aligning with provincial priorities. The result is a strong portfolio of clean electricity proposals that can be delivered at scale and on schedule.”
The volume of proposals received points to strong market confidence in British Columbia’s clean electricity framework and highlights the importance of sustained, predictable procurement to meet rising demand from electrification and economic growth. CEBC is encouraged by the continued requirement for First Nations equity participation, which supports Indigenous leadership and strengthens project outcomes.
As proposals move through evaluation in the months ahead, CEBC looks forward to continuing its work with First Nations, government, BC Hydro, and industry to support successful project delivery and ensure British Columbia’s electricity system remains clean, reliable, and resilient.
