The Clean Energy Association of British Columbia (CEBC) congratulates Charlotte Mitha on her appointment as the new President & CEO of BC Hydro. With over three decades of experience in British Columbia’s energy sector, Charlotte brings a proven track record of leadership and a commitment to advancing clean energy innovation. Her background in both technical operations and executive management has equipped her with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities ahead for BC Hydro. Charlotte’s dedication to building resilient energy systems and fostering collaborative relationships aligns with CEBC’s vision for a sustainable and equitable energy future.

We also take this opportunity to once again recognize Chris O’Riley for his 35 years of dedicated service to BC Hydro. As we previously shared, his leadership has played a pivotal role in advancing clean energy initiatives, including the historic 2024 Call for Power. We are pleased to host Chris at Generate 2025 for a special session titled “A Conversation with Chris O’Riley”. This session, sponsored by BC Hydro, will provide valuable insights into the future of clean energy in B.C.

“We welcome Charlotte Mitha as BC Hydro’s next President & CEO and look forward to working together to support British Columbia’s clean energy future. Charlotte’s leadership reflects the values we share at CEBC, and we are honoured to feature her at our upcoming Women in Clean Energy event. We also extend our gratitude to Chris O’Riley for his years of service and look forward to hearing his reflections at Generate 2025,” said Kwatuuma Cole Sayers, Executive Director, CEBC.
